DEMONSTRATIONS

Cookery and butchery demonstrations are held at The Ginger Piggery. They are highly informative but at the same time lots of fun.

The cookery demonstrations are very popular, and change throughout the seasons, including such things as 'Sumptuous Soups and Serious Puds' to 'Pies and Quiches'. The courses are held by Jo, the chef at The Trough, and cost £25 per person for groups of 10-20 (smaller groups please enquire for prices) or £35 per person if you would like to include lunch. The Butchery demonstrations, taken by Mike the butcher, are distinctive in their hands on approach. We have courses for all ages and levels, designed to suit your individual requirements. 'Sausage Making' is the greatest fun, whilst 'The Anatomy of Food' is more in depth.

Courses for professional chefs and smallholders wanting to learn to butcher their own meat are also available.
